It's true, it's not safe, if Bill has cuts in his mouth or something. The virus doesn't last long at all in stomach acids, but Bill wasn't thinking of any of these things. He got caught up in the moment and did something dangerous without thinking. I think that was a reminder to him that they needed to be safe.
