Birds. There were birds chirping somewhere and Bill muttered a curse under his breath. It was much too early for birds.
“Fucking birds. We need a cat,” he huffed, sleepily, and dragged the comforter over his head, blocking out the sunlight that glared pink through his eyelids from a gap in the curtain. The chirping stopped and Bill sighed his relief. He was warm, the bed was soft and Tom's arm was wrapped possessively around his waist. He didn’t want to move until he absolutely had no choice.
Just as he was hovering on the edge of going back to sleep, the birds started up again, and Bill pushed the covers down in frustration, burying his face in his pillow while Tom groaned in protest behind him.
“Baby,” Tom mumbled, “Gonna get your phone?”
Bill patted around the top of the night stand until his fingers found his cell and he dragged it closer. He squinted at it; it was lit up like it was ringing but that damn sure wasn’t his ring tone. Confused, he opened it and brought it to his ear. Who the hell would be calling him this early anyway?
The talking started before Bill could even get out a muffled ‘hello’.
“Bill Trümper! It’s about damn time you answered your phone! Are you avoiding me?” David was talking fast and Bill pried an eye open like that would help him understand what on earth David was talking about. ”I’ve been trying to get you for days. Don’t you ever check your messages?”
“David, what time is it?” Bill started to twist around, looking for the clock but decided it was too much effort and flopped back down on his pillow, phone pressed firmly to his ear.
”What time is it? The only time I’m gonna get you, apparently.” Bill snorted before remembering Tom was sleeping behind him.
“I’ve been a little busy,” he said, trying to keep his voice low.
”Busy? “ Bill could hear a commotion of voices in the background and listened while David moved someplace quieter. ”Anything to do with your new boy-toy?”
“Mhm. We moved in together. Well, I moved in with—“ David gasped on the other end of the line and Bill smiled.
”You moved in together? Like moved in. Together.” Bill chuckled at David’s shocked tone, wrapping Tom's arm around his waist and threading his fingers with Tom's. ”Oh, you have been holding out on me!”
“I didn’t mean to, I swear. It’s been crazy. We just got everything moved in yesterday, and then Janni—Tom's daughter—went for the weekend with her grandmother—“
”Oh!” Bill could hear David’s grin and he knew what was coming. ”You haven’t been busy. You’ve been getting busy in every room of that house, haven’t you?”
“David!” Bill hissed and glanced over his shoulder at Tom. “Only two.” he whispered, giggling.
David snorted on the other end of the line. ”Well, you better rule out tonight breaking in any more rooms. That’s why I was trying to get you to call me.”
“Yeah, why?” He played absentmindedly with Tom's hand, moving it slowly up and down his belly, wisping it over soft skin. Tom stirred behind him, pressing his lips to Bill’s shoulder and letting Bill’s touch guide his fingers over Bill’s hip.
“Because of the show! You have to come tonight.” Bill leaned up on his arm quickly, ignoring the whine of protest from behind him and patting Tom's hand against his hipbone.
“What? The show’s in New York.” It wasn’t a question; of course the show was in New York. David had been talking about working off Broadway for the last five months.
“Nope, now we’re on tour. It’s not a very long one but one of the stops is close enough that you could come. You know,” David paused, for dramatic effect, Bill was sure. ”If you want to.”
David had a pout so devastating, Bill could almost see it from his bed. He rolled his eyes and laid back down, Tom snuggling back into him and pressing his hardening cock into the crease of Bill’s ass. Bill pushed back and tried to breathe.
“Of course I’ll come. Idiot.” Bill chuckled and Tom slid against him again. “So, um…”
Now it was David’s turn to laugh. ”Oh, you better bring him. I wanna check this boy out.”
Bill grinned so wide that his cheeks hurt; he couldn’t wait for David to meet Tom. “You’ll love him, I know you will. He’s just wonderful and kind and funny, and so gorgeous, David, he’ll take your breath—“
”Okay, okay; I get it. He’s perfect.” Bill moved Tom's hand to where his cock was hard and starting to drip from Tom's caresses and feeling his cock lay heavy and hard against his crease. He bit down a moan, pressing his lips together and breathing out through his nose as Tom's fingers wrapped around him. ”Bill?”
“Ah, mhm. Perfect.” Bill stilled Tom's hand, willing himself to get it together so he could get off this phone and get Tom into him. “What time is the show?”
David gave him the time and directions to the theatre in the neighboring town, the same one where he’d taken Tom to dinner on their first date. “So you’re coming?”
Bill smirked. “Oh yeah, we’ll both be coming.” He gasped a laugh when Tom squeezed the head of his dick and snorted against his shoulder.
There was a pause on the other end of the line before David asked cautiously, “He’s feeling you up, isn’t he?”
“Hm? Why no, David; that would be wrong.” He squeezed his eyes shut as Tom slid his cock between Bill’s thighs, his precome making them slick and wet.
”Uh huh.” Bill could barely concentrate on talking, let alone recognize the smile in David’s voice. ”I won’t keep you, then, but I’ll see you both tonight. Bye, honey!”
Bill closed the phone and held it tight in his fist for a moment before he slid it back onto the nightstand. “You, Tom Kaulitz, are a very naughty man.” He clenched his thighs together and Tom bit lightly into his shoulder.
“You haven’t even begun to see how naughty I can be,” Tom murmured hotly into the side of Bill’s neck and Bill let loose the moan he’d held in earlier.
“I feel like I did when I was getting ready for our first date.” Tom sifted through his shirts, waffling over a dark blue polo or a dusty pink button down. He’d already donned a new pair of denims, tighter than he was used to but the new material was thin and soft. He hadn’t picked them out, of course; they had been Bill’s selection, but Tom didn’t mind. Just the way Bill’s eyes had appraised him when Tom had come out of the dressing room with the new jeans on made getting used to the snugger fit worthwhile.
Bill came up behind him and reached over Tom's shoulder, pulling out the pink button down. He held it against Tom's chest. “Hold this.”
Backing up, Bill looked him up and down before nodding. “I think that’s good. And you know, I think I have something that matches it. Hang on.” Running over to his closet—the one that had been formerly full of boxes that Tom had never unpacked from when he’d moved in—Bill quickly pushed the hangers back and forth until he found what he was looking for. He pulled out a black and pink tee shirt and held it up against his chest for Tom to see. It contrasted well with Bill’s black jeans and his coloring and Tom smiled his approval.
“We match but we’re not matchy. I like it.” Tom rifled through his drawer to find a bandana to finish off his outfit. “You know, I don’t even know what we’ll find to talk about. It’s not like I’m the most sociable person in the world.”
Bill pulled the shirt over his head and unzipped his jeans to tuck it in. “He’s really great, Tom. You won’t have to worry what to talk to him about, I promise. He’ll talk your ear off and next thing you know, you’ll be telling him your life story.”
Tom scoffed. “Yeah, I don’t think so, Bill. It was hard for me to tell even you some things about me. And I have no patience for small talk.”
Bill stopped trying to fasten the clunky, silver bracelet around his wrist and gave Tom a look. “You’re a businessman. Don’t you have to schmooze people for that?”
“Well, yeah, but that’s different.” Tom shrugged and tied his bandana. He wished he’d had time to wax his dreads and make them a little less scraggly, but when they’d finally gotten out of bed, they’d only had time for lunch and shopping before they’d had to come home and get ready to go out. He kept trying not to think of how they looked, and thought maybe if he held them back with the bandana and kept them over his shoulders, they wouldn’t bother him so much.
“Tom, you worry too much.” Bill dropped the bracelet on the bed and sidled up next to him, leaning his face into Tom's neck. “I love you, okay? That’s reason enough for him to love you, too.” He patted Tom on the butt and squealed as Tom reached out to goose him in retaliation.
As the crowd rose around them, cheering and clapping, Tom released Bill’s hand and stood to join them, laughing to himself as Bill put two fingers in his mouth and whistled loudly. The cast had just come out for their bows and Tom was almost sad to see the show end. It had been a musical with an interesting storyline and a cast in bright costumes and Tom had enjoyed it thoroughly. However, he’d had just as much fun watching Bill’s face as his boyfriend watched the show.
“C’mon.” Bill took his hand and they shimmied down the row to the aisle. David had gotten them excellent seats so they could see everything on stage, almost as if the cast were putting on a play only for them. That also meant that when the show was over, they were quite close to the door that led backstage. “David said to come see him afterward.”
Bill was excited. Tom could feel the vibrations coming off of him and his boyfriend nearly bounced with energy. Tom had to walk quickly to keep up with him and Bill still tugged at his hand, urging him on. Laughing, he pulled Bill back to him.
“Hey there, slow down.” He dodged a cast member wearing a tall, orange hat made of feathers. He failed in his attempt not to stare before putting his arm around Bill’s waist and murmuring into his hair, “He’s still going to be there in five minutes. Let’s let some of these people get out of here.”
“I haven’t seen him in forever, Tom. Five minutes is too long!” Bill’s grip was strong as he dragged Tom around props and people while he looked back and forth for something. Finally, he ducked into a brightly lit room that was buzzing with chatter as the cast celebrated another great performance.
Bill strained on his tiptoes, scanning the crowd, until Tom heard a loud cry from the other side of the room.
“Billy!” Tom didn’t see where the shout came from at first, but Bill pushed them through the crowd until he almost ran into a shorter, dark haired man rushing toward them. “Billy, you made it! I knew you would.”
The man Tom presumed to be David grabbed Bill by the waist and hugged him hard, lifting him off his feet. Bill, in turn, threw his arms around the man’s neck and talked a mile a minute into the shorter man’s neck. Tom couldn’t make out a word he said but David didn’t seem to have a problem, and Tom figured it must be a learned skill.
He waited patiently, crossing his arms and smiling as he watched Bill reunite with his best friend and mentor. Bill’s face was split in a huge grin and his eyes glistened and Tom nearly forgot where he was for a moment, getting lost in how beautiful Bill looked right then.
“Tom, are you listening?” He shook himself and realized Bill had been talking to him. He felt his face flush; what a way to make a great first impression!
“Sorry, I was, um…a bit overwhelmed.” Tom took the hand that David held out, shaking it firmly. The man was short but strong and Tom already liked the kindness in his brown eyes. He was shorter than Tom, as well; thin, with laugh lines that scored his face. The man had character. “Good to meet you. David, right?”
David pulled him into a quick, tight hug and Tom couldn’t help but laugh into the baby fine hair that tickled his nose. David turned him loose and held him at arm’s length.
“Of course I’m David! You think Bill would let anyone else molest him like that?” David grinned at him, his voice surprisingly high for a man his age. Tom looked at Bill with wide eyes but Bill wound one arm around David’s shoulders and stood next to him as David checked Tom out.
“Oh, Billy,” David finally said, after looking Tom up and down several times. “You’ve got a fine man here, you know.” He hummed his approval and took Tom's hand, dropping a tiny kiss on Tom's knuckles. “He’s delicious!”
Tom felt like his face might actually be on fire. Bill veritably beamed with the compliment and moved from David’s side, pressing himself into Tom's arms and Tom was glad to have him there.
“Tonight is Rhonda’s birthday and we’re having a party for her. I’d love for you two to join us.” David took Bill’s hand. “We need to chat, you and I. And of course,” David took Tom's hand, as well, squeezing it lightly. “I need to get to know your man. Make sure he’s worth my Billy’s heart.” The smile in David’s voice made his statement slightly less intimidating but Tom knew that David only wanted the best for Bill.
“I’m in.” Tom nodded at David before turning to Bill, a determined smile on his face.
“Good!” David laughed and went to grab his coat. “Let’s go then!”
It was nearly three in the morning when Bill and Tom made it home. They opened the front door tiredly, taking off their coats and shoes with weary sighs.
They’d talked all the way home; Bill excited about seeing his friend again, Tom happy about becoming friends with David. The man really was incredible and funny and sweet, and Bill was right; Tom had ended up talking to him much more than he thought he would. David just made him feel comfortable and before he knew it, Tom found himself talking about things he’d never told anyone but Bill. He’d felt Bill watching him from time to time and when he’d catch his boyfriend’s eyes, he’d swear it was something like pride he saw in them. Mile after mile on the way home, Tom didn’t think that more than a moment passed when Bill wasn’t smiling as he played over and over the events of the night.
As they got ready for bed, brushing their teeth together in the little bathroom, taking turns spitting in the sink and rinsing, Tom thought about how domestic they’d gotten already. Bill seemed to fit into his life just perfectly; into his life and into his heart, filling up all the spaces that had been empty before.
So long as he had Bill and Janni, there was nothing else he could ask for.

Date: 2009-11-06 05:43 am (UTC)Amazing as always, but I miss Janni XD I love reading Bill's interactions with her, especially since he was apprehensive about her at first but he turned out to be a natural with kids. In real life Bill'd make an incredible dad and it shows through this story as well. I want to wibble! LOL.
But that last line makes me nervous! Normally a chapter ending on a good note means the next chapter will end on a bad note D:

*mind has run off elsewhere*

Date: 2009-11-06 06:42 pm (UTC)This was another one of those lovely 'sit back and relax' chapters that you usually throw in just before the shit hits the fan, so I'll enjoy it while I can. I can hardly wait for what you have in store next. I just love how you've got this story flowing; you get everyone all worked up, either over the sex, or the drama they go through, then calm everyone down and show us the sweet cuddly side of their life together. Wonderful!
